Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican American broadcaster. Her current role is a sportscaster for ESPN, working as anchor for SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. Her first job at ESPN in the year 2016. The daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is native to two languages. Since she was nine years old, her ability to converse in two languages allowed her to get a job in Miami as an assistant producer for Univision. In her position she was able to be a part of national show producers such as Nuestra Belleza Latina. Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Her first job was as reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. She moved in 2009 into Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become a news reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Reports on her show covered immigration issues as well as drug trafficking and various other topics on the Texas and Mexico border. She was also a Spanish reporter at the newscast from 5 p.m. and anchor and reporter on the newscast of nine p.m. with a reporter and anchor in English and again a Spanish reporter from 10 p.m. Also, she was a substitute for anchors of sports and weather forecasters. Later, she was anchor and reporter on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She did pieces on Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. In addition she also co-hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was advertised as a sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In similar roles for the network's magazine show Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. In Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd of November, 1985. There is an older sister. In 1992, the family left Mexico for the US and eventually settled in Miami. Her parents divorced soon after and her mother got married to an architect from the naval profession called Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in the year 2006. When on vacation Antonietta was staying at the house of her sister Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sibling had recently gotten an offer to work. Antonietta is a senior in high school and knew exactly what career path she wanted to pursue. While deciding if Mount Union was right for her Antonietta visited the university. In the end, she loved the school and the university offered the kind of program she was searching for. Following her graduation from her high school education, she chose to attend the University with a major in media studies. Her relationship lasted for a while with her professor Mark Bergmann who was the manager at WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was a part. He inspired her to believe in herself and his passion in journalism was a huge influence on her, and she was determined to live up to his expectations and never fail him.
